The Unexpected

The that I found to be the most unexpected for me was probably the difficulty level of the classes. I thought I was going to be in over my head with classes, but the subject of the classes are not that difficult. As long as you can manage your time and hand in all your assignments classes are not difficult at all. I find it to be easier then high school because you have two less classes and a lot free time to finish the things you need to get done.

First Semester

One of my successes during my first semester as a college student has to be my ability to adjust and deal with adversity. Living out on my own and living with someone I've never met for the first time was really a challenge at first, but I've been able to learn to live on my own.
One of my failures and struggles this semester has been learning to manage the amount of free time and productively use that time. It's easy to just put off school work and go hang with friends, but I've been learning that it's a necessity to set aside time every day to get schoolwork out of the way.

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break is often a time to enjoy time with family and friends. But for most college students it's our first time home in months. Which is a feeling almost nobody can begin to describe. Seeing my family, girlfriend and being home will be such an amazing feeling. Being able to spend time with all my friends and remember good times we had in high school will be a great time. Going through each others different experiences we've had at colleges will surely be funny.

"Stretch"

How do I plan on stretching during my four years at college? Well I plan on expanding into things I may not exactly feel comfortable doing. Widening my horizons and views on things. Anybody can come into college and just stick with their major and what they like and do nothing else. Well my plan is to expand into new challenges and see what happens. Nothing ventured nothing gained is something I've always greatly believed in.

Meet One Person

If I had the choice to meet any person it would be Josh Hamilton, center fielder of the Texas Rangers. I've followed him ever since he got drafted by the Devil Rays right out of high school. I've heard and followed his story ever since his first issue with drugs, to his home run derby in Yankee Stadium to his MVP season and his World Series runs. I believe that he has many inspirations to share and would be an amazing person to sit down to have a conversation with.

Dash Blog Post

When I look back in 2016, I want that dash to represent that I've earned two degrees. One in English and one in Education. It will represent adversity that I'm sure I will have to go through while attending school. It will represent skills that I've acquired while living in dorms and living with new people for the first time. And lastly it will represent friends and memories that I will have for the rest of my life.

Which mindset am I?

I believe that I am more of the growth mindset. Mostly because I think that my personal qualities are what gets me through my challenges. Also that the growth mindset states that people grow and change through applications and past experiences they've had. Which I can apply to myself because I think I've gone through a lot and have been able to learn a lot about myself through things I've gone through in my life.
